1. Who we are

eMigration is a practice management platform for Australian Registered Migration Agents (RMAs). We are committed to compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Information we collect

We collect and store the following categories of personal information:

  • Firm and user account details (name, email, MARN)
  • Client records entered by RMA firms (name, contact details)
  • Case and document metadata (case titles, deadlines, checklist status)
  • Documents uploaded by clients via the portal (stored in Supabase Storage)
  • Usage and activity logs for compliance and audit purposes

3. How we use your information

We use personal information solely to provide and improve the eMigration service:

  • Authenticating users and managing firm accounts
  • Storing and retrieving case management data
  • Sending deadline reminder emails and document notifications
  • Generating invoices and processing payments via Stripe

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Data storage and residency

All data is stored in Supabase's ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) region on AWS. This ensures data residency within Australia in accordance with Privacy Act obligations.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for the duration of your subscription plus 12 months. After account closure, data is deleted upon request or after 24 months, whichever is sooner. OMARA compliance records may be retained for longer as required by law.

6. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Complain to the OAIC if you believe your privacy has been breached
